The course has the aim of helping Students to understand how Business Entities use information system to achieve their objectives. Students are introduced to understand the principles of business by means of explanation of concepts like innovation, competition, value, market and their modelling technique; we present a case study based on Business Ontology. The second part of the course is focused on the structure of a typical Information System in a Company; E.R.P., CRM, DMS. A particular attention is paid to clarify concepts and meaning of the term “process digitization” and to the legal implications regarding digital identity and privacy

Type of Assessment
Written exam; students are invited to write about three arguments explained during lessons and described in the handouts provided. We expect that students, while replying to the arguments proposed, might demonstrate an organic understanding of the arguments treated during the course. During the exam usage of books, notes or any other support is prohibited.
Course program
Organization and Company: basics of business and work organization. Corporate structures: meaning and representation; business Model and Business Plan; Information Systems: Basics on information systems and the relationship between them and the organization, operational information systems, management information systems. During the course is scheduled to attend the speakers from the world of business contributions that will experience some of the topics covered in class
